Kirsty wanted something simple that depicted her personality and the quality of work she produces and not what she does as a developer or as a web geek, ie. coding, data or pixel related. Having the personality and skillset that she has, most people who we know and have worked with see her as a "Superstar" which was a perfect starting point for me to go away and develop further.
She wanted a no frills type based logo together with a simple icon of which she could also use as a single element. Anyone who knows Kirsty's work would know that she produces high quality work which deserves a gold star rating. To give this project some real design value and not use any stock art or dingbats, a bespoke star element was created from the letter "K" to function as both a standalone "Gold Star" icon and a not so obvious icon that also worked as a "K".
